It's very inspiring to know that more and more people are adopting green living. Another great green restoration for every home is with the use of window tints. While most window films are for reducing solar heat gain in the summer, low-e films both block summer heat and improve winter heat retention.

If the windows were recently replaced as the article claims, why didnt the replacement windows conform to the energy code?

Energy mislaid by windows alone can comment for 10 percent to twenty-five percent of a building's heating bill, according to a U.S. Department of Energy. So I think that this is really a cleaver more. I sure hope that every building also consider making there window energy efficient with the use of window tints. While most window films are for reducing solar heat gain in the summer, low-e films both block summer heat and improve winter heat retention.

We just replaced our windows with SeriousWindowsl in our home and they are great! Mine aren't R8, but they are R5, and have made a huge difference already on our heating bills compared to last year. Serious is a great company - I highly recommend you check out their vinyl windows - http://www.seriouswindows.com. How cool what they are doing at the Empire State Building.
