Short and Sweet
These are busy days around these parts –and by these parts I mean USGlass magazine. The past week has been hectic and quick, given the Labor Day holiday. I have been working diligently to complete my week’s to-do list before I head off to the show in Atlanta next week. I’m sure many of you will be there as well, but, in the meantime, here are some things I’ve been pondering this week.
Point-supported glass: As I began researching for an upcoming feature, I referred back to an article I wrote some years past. What do you think of these applications? They certainly catch your attention, but how much thought have you given to what goes into the design, engineering and construction? It’s no easy feat.
Operable glass walls: Often seen in the high-end residential market, these systems are making their way into the commercial realm, as well—and not just on the exterior. There is also a growing opportunity for use in interiors. Still, these systems do come at a premium. Is the market ready to see these hit the mainstream?
Glass printing: You love it, right? Most everyone does and it’s a decorative technique that is quickly making its way into many glass businesses. If your company is exploring, this I would love to talk to you about it.
If you’re walking the show in Atlanta next week, feel free to track me down if you’d like to weigh in on any of these topics. I always welcome your feedback and look forward to seeing you next week. You can find us in booth 708.
