I agree that the Russian architectural style must be preserved and maintained. But it is also important to build structures that suit the needs of business today. That is where the glass comes in. And I think there are many examples of innovative use of glass in design.

Glass, skyscapers, fosters kill old Russian cities. They losts their authenticity. By the way historical center of St. Petersburg is in UNESCO list of the world heritage. It got the status because of low skyline and saved large part of historical buildings. The Gazprom desire to erect his symbol near to center conflicts with lows.
