Solutia, Shwinco Joint Forces to Meet Demand for Hurricane Products
Shwinco Industries, a coastal manufacturer of custom vinyl doors and windows for residential and heavy-commercial-use, has teamed up with Solutia Inc. to offer code-approved hurricane protection products made with KeepSafe Maximum laminated glass.
Headquartered on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Shwinco conducts virtually all of its business in coastal zones, where there is a large demand for high-performance impact-resistant glass. Doors and windows constructed with Solutia’s KeepSafe Maximum interlayer provide an effective means of helping to protect homes during a hurricane where the ability of glazing products to resist wind-borne debris can often mean the difference between a home surviving a storm intact and the need to rebuild.
“Because of our location, we understand the unique demands of coastal living, which makes our partnership with Solutia a perfect fit,” says Craig Shipp Sr., president and chief executive officer of Shwinco Industries. “The architects and builders we work with demand a superior product offering and our window and doors made with Solutia’s KeepSafe Max interlayer are able to withstand the wind-forces generated by the strongest Category Five Hurricanes.”
