GANA Announces New Ball Drop Specification

The Glass Association of North America (GANA) has released a new specification related to laminated glass testing. The Standard Specification for Ball Drop Impact Resistance of Laminated Architectural Flat Glazing is a companion piece for GANA's Laminating Division's ball drop test method, which was released by the Topeka, Kan., based industry organization in 2006. The purpose of the specification is to be used as an in-plant quality control test for laminated glass.

"A great deal of effort and expertise went into the development of this specification," says Ashley Charest, account executive for GANA. "Initial work on the specification began two years ago after the release of the test method, and now we have a product that many in the laminating industry will find incredibly valuable to their companies."
