Architects' Guide to Glass & MetalYKK AP Expands Thermashade Line

YKK AP has expanded its ThermaShade sunshade system product line.

ThermaShade sunshades can now be integrated with multiple curtainwall systems. The product can now be applied to YKK AP's impact-resistant YHC 300 OG curtainwall series, the YCW 750 OG curtainwall system and other non-fenestration wall conditions designed to carry the combined loads imposed.

The sunshade system incorporates a thermally-broken anchor to minimize energy transfer into the curtainwall system at the point of attachment, a patent-pending feature that allows it to be used with YKK AP curtainwall systems while maintaining the maximum thermal efficiency of both products.

The sunshades are pre-engineered and can be arranged in over 100 standard configurations, allowing them to be incorporated into building designs without the need for customized engineering support. Pre-engineered options now include 90-degree inside and outside corner transitions.
