Acuity low-iron glass by Vitro Architectural Glass is an economical upgrade to conventional clear glass that offers clarity for vision glass applications and truer rendition of colored spandrel glass panels. Formulated for use with Solarban solar control, low-E glasses and available through members of the Vitro Certified Network, Acuity glass eliminates the green cast inherent to conventional clear glass to create a more brilliant aesthetic without compromising project budgets or energy performance.
Light in the Darkness
Halio smart-tinting glass is designed to look like natural clear glass until it tints to darker neutral grays to block solar heat and reduce glare. It can do so either automatically or on demand. Halio can be used in commercial and residential buildings, in applications ranging from façades to skylights to interior walls and partitions. Kinestral Technologies has begun shipping Halio smart-tinting glass from its first large-scale factory located in Miaoli, Taiwan.
The Satin Touch
Yorglas’ Satin product range can be used for stairs and balcony balustrades, kitchen doors, shower cabins or spandrel glass for privacy and aesthetics. The Satin range has been expanded in three groups: Yormat, Yorlux and Crystallux. They are characterized according to privacy needs, light transmission and application. The product is fully etched, so there are no empty margins on the sheet. Each sheet is controlled visually and technically before shipment. The Satin product range does not allow fingerprinting and creates a silky feeling as a result of the acid etching process applied, according to the company. The design will not degrade, nor wear, does not pickle or discolor, and will not change over time. Any process such as cutting, polishing, beveling, bending, lamination or tempering can be applied easily. According to the company, customers may choose from a variety of substrate or mirror colors such as grey, bronze or green for their projects.

Functionality Meets Design
The Roto Patio Inowa is a hardware solution designed to enhance the overall performance and functionality of a sliding patio door. Inowa, which stands for “Impermeable: No Water, No Air,” combines convenient operation with an attractive design. It features an innovative closing movement that provides a high level of impermeability and lower energy costs for the user. The hardware system incorporates a continuous gasket system around the operable sash, along with concealed lock points, even in the mullion area where the two sashes come together.

HMI Cardinal’s Vista Series of grid-print-ed shower enclosures creates a contemporary grid-patterned design, without requiring metal bars or individual glass panels. Instead, the glass panels are printed using Cardinal’s Satori ceramic-frit-in-glass printing technique. As an option, adhesive-mounted metal strips are also available to provide a true three-dimensional effect. The Vista Series enclosures are available in clear or low-iron tempered glass in 3/8-inch and ½-inch thickness, in matte black or oil-rubbed bronze grid finishes. All Vista Series shower enclosures include Cardinal 10 surface protection, an extra layer of protection that provides an easy-clean, non-stick surface that repels soap scum, grime and mineral buildup, and is maintained easily using standard glass-cleaning products, according to the company.
